“Oh my god Drew. Thank you. I can’t believe you scheduled for lunch to be delivered.”

“You wouldn’t let me stay and take care of you so I had to take care of you from here.” If I wasn’t already in love with this man, I would’ve fallen hard for him on how he has been there for me this week from the bad day to my now deathly cold. I really just want to blurt out my love for him and I even open my mouth to say it but instead of the words, I start to cough uncontrollably. I sit up in bed, pulling the phone away from me, and try to take some deep breaths. When I get the coughing under control, I take a sip of water before bringing the phone back to my ear.

“Sorry.”

“Mack please call the doctor for me.”

“Yeah okay, Dad.”

“Well if I’m acting like a dad now, I need to say one more thing.” I chuckle. “Take some medication.”

“I will. Thank you for caring.”

“Always.” I hear some voices on the other end. “Hey we’ve been placed on call. I have to go. Please text about the pharmacy and if you need anything.”

“I will. Have a good rest of the day. I’ll see you later.”

“I’ll see you later. Just hang out in bed today.” I can’t help but smile as I set down my phone and chuckle. He really cares for me. Feeling like I haven’t told him enough how much I appreciate him for taking care of me, I decide to send him a message.

Mack: Thank you for taking care of me. You make me so happy. I can’t wait to see you tonight.

Hoping if I change my clothes and get myself together a little bit, I’ll feel somewhat awake. I climb out of bed to start my day. After my lunch was delivered, I quickly sent Drew a picture and the pharmacy information that my antibiotics are being sent to. For the rest of the day I just hang out in bed binge watching a show on Netflix while also going in and out of sleep.
